Questions and answers

How does Stickexistence Pest Control work?
Stickexistence Pest Control is a referral service. We do not do the pest work. You tell us what you see. We connect you with independent providers in our network. They send estimates. You compare them and pick one, or none. Asking costs you nothing owed and carries no obligation. The choice stays with you from start to finish.
What happens during a first pest control visit?
The provider looks first. They check the places pests like: basements, attics, crawl spaces, kitchens and the outside walls. Then they name the pest, explain what they found and suggest a plan. You should get the method, the products, the price and the number of visits in writing. Ask questions before you agree to anything. A good provider will not rush you.
Are pest treatments safe for kids and pets?
Often yes, when the provider follows the label and your instructions. Still, ask before the visit. Ask what products they plan to use. Ask where they will apply them. Ask how long kids and pets should stay away from treated areas. Cover or put away food and dishes. If anyone in the home has health concerns, tell the provider up front.
How do I choose between several estimates?
Do not look at price alone. Check what each estimate covers. Look at the pest named, the method, the number of visits and any follow-up. Ask if repeat visits are included in the price. Ask what happens if the pests return. Compare in writing. A very low price with few details can cost more later. Take your time.
How can I prevent pests in my house?
Seal gaps around pipes, doors and the foundation. Fix leaks. Keep basements dry, since damp spaces draw bugs. Store food in tight containers. Trim branches away from the roof. Keep firewood off the ground and away from walls. Cold winters push mice indoors, so check for gaps in fall. A provider can point out weak spots.
Do I need to leave home during treatment?
Sometimes, sometimes not. Many ant, spider and roach treatments let you stay. Some jobs, like certain bed bug treatment methods, may ask you to leave for a few hours. The provider will tell you before work starts. Ask about it when you compare estimates. Plan for pets too, since they may need to stay elsewhere.
Can I remove wildlife like raccoons or squirrels myself?
It is risky. Wild animals can bite, scratch and carry disease. A mother may have young inside, and sealing her out can trap babies. Some animals have legal protections, and local rules vary. Wildlife removal providers know the safe, legal way to handle it. Request an estimate and ask how they remove animals and close the entry points.
How soon should I act on termites or rodents?
Soon. Termites can quietly damage wood over time, and mice and rats breed fast. Waiting usually makes the job bigger. Many providers can respond quickly, but availability varies. Request a callback to check provider availability, or send the estimate form. Then compare your options without pressure. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check yours.
